Entertainment

Following last year’s great success, Coventry Festival of Motoring 2010 will bring you a perfect fun-packed weekend of entertainment for the entire family to enjoy.

Saturday 4th September

Car Display: The Festival will kick off with a display in Millennium Place of some of the vehicles taking part in the Festival. This will be a fantastic opportunity to get up close with vintage, veteran and classic cars that you rarely see and get to know all about them from their owners.

West Midlands Police Band: The West Midlands Police Brass Band will be entertaining you with some superb music that will add to the festive atmosphere of the weekend.

Civic Reception & Dinner: In the evening those participating in the Festival will be invited to enjoy a Civic Reception and Dinner with Jason Dawe, who will be our special guest speaker for the evening. A Sunday Times motoring columnist, TV presenter for several popular motoring shows and a motoring industry expert, Jason is a respected motoring commentator and consumer champion, with a particular passion for helping buyers get the best value for their money when they buy a car. Jason will be giving a talk about his vast experience in the motoring industry as well as some invaluable guidance on car-buying. Tickets will be selling out faster than hot cakes so make sure you book early so you don’t miss Jason’s inspiring talk.

Sunday 5th September

Car run: Sunday 5th September will start early as hundreds of cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles gather at the War Memorial Park before embarking on a run through the countryside of Coventry and Warwickshire. Following feedback from previous year’s participants, we are pleased to announce that for this year we are introducing a shorter run that will enable participants to return to the War Memorial Park quicker so they can enjoy the arena entertainment, break out a picnic or just mingle with old friends.

For those people not taking part in the run there will be plenty of things to see and do at the park as a fun packed day of entertainment has been planned:-

Mega Mini Stunt Team: This team of minis in their 50th Anniversary Year will be at the Festival to wow you with sizzling moto-action including incredible stunts, driving around at high speed, 360° spins, sideways glides and lots more!

Imps Motorcycle Display Team: These young daredevils ranging from 5 -16 years will be providing a spectacular show with jaw-dropping stunts. From the sound of revving engines to the awe of a billowing fire jump and the suspense of a multiple motorcycle combination ‘cross-over’ routine, The Imps will have you mesmerised by an unmissable display of discipline and skill.

Jaguar (Coventry) Brass Band: This championship band will be entertaining you with some superb performances and further liven up the festive nature of the day.

Jaguar Land Rover Experience: Visitors to the Festival will have an opportunity again this year to experience the spectacular Jaguar Land Rover Experience. Take a ride in the latest vehicles that Land Rover has to offer and see exactly what these vehicles are capable of doing.

Circus skills: This will be a perfect opportunity for children to have the time of their lives clowning around in the Circus Skills workshops where they can learn to spin plates, juggle, walk on stilts or twist balloons to make funny shapes. Face-painting will also be available.

Craft Fair and Marketplace: Following the success of last year, the Craft Fair and Marketplace will be at the Festival again full of interesting and unusual gift items for all the family.

Car Club stands: In addition to the popular car club stands we have decided to create a new feature for 2010. We will be creating a themed arena within the car clubs area to show off a particular club or make of car so for 2010 we have teamed up with the American Auto Club (UK) who will be putting on a fabulous display of American cars for you.
