Featured Participant - Roger Forty and his Land Rover Series 2A - 16 April 2012
Roger has owned his Land Rover Series 2A for seven years, and this will be the first time he has taken part in the Coventry Festival of Motoring.
Roger told us about how he came to own his vehicle:
"The vehicle was originally built as a grey pick up, but over its life was converted to a full tilt and had its first coat of green paint. I bought it from a colleague at work who had it in a lock up for years. I offered him £500 for it and it took him at least a year to finally accept.
We had to drag it out of the lock-up as the brakes were locked solid, and it struggled to drive itself onto a trailer. When I got it home my wife leaned out of the window and shouted "what on earth have you bought now!" It was certainly in need of a little "tidying up"...
Over the next 12 months I had the engine rebuilt, various new panels, seats, brakes, suspension and and and ....... then a new coat of paint.
It now spends most of its time in retirement in my garage.
